Now that the Honolulu City Council is thinking of outlawing texting while driving, I think I may need some outside assitance with getting over the temptation of texting while driving. Are there any TAA meetings around? You know, TEXT A-LOT ANONYMOUS!!! "My name is Lina Girl and I'm a textaholic."

LOL Speaking of texting...today for Battle of the Sexes, the topic was text language and Jeff, the man contestant said LOL meant "laugh out loud". Amazingly, our studio producers accepted the answer and a protest was filed by the woman contestant Celeste. The producers eventually threw the point out. GOOD! Anyone who calls themselves a decent text artist knows that LOL stands for "Laughing Out Loud". While Pipi, Jeff and the other men listeners claim there is no difference, I have to step up and in defense of our wahine AND the English Language say YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE!!! One is a command...like you're gonna tell the person you're texting "hey, you...laugh out loud". The correct answer is telling the person you're texting how you are NOW reacting to the text they sent "ha ha ha...how funny...I'm laughing out loud". Great call on the protest, Celeste!!!

On the Elections and Movies You Should Avoid

First on the elections...I'm pretty happy with the outcome. One blogger said it's nuts to vote for Mufi Hannemann (as Honolulu's mayor) and against rail (transit) but hey! I exercise my right to vote and while I'm not WILD about rail, I think Mufi's a pretty honest and upright guy...something you don't get much in politics.
It's amazing to be alive at this time as history is being made. It would have happened either way: if McCain became president he would have been the oldest president elected, but as it happened Obama is now "da man", the first part African-American US president. I got chicken skin when his win was final. Now comes the tough part...running a country in economic trouble...good luck, bruddah!

Okay...'nother subject...I am such the Halloween fan and love scaring myself silly watching spooky movies. So I decided to check out The Haunting of Molly Hartley during my $1 hotdog Tuesday date night. Here's my recommendation: SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! Even if somebody says they'll pay, take 'em to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year instead! Seriously...I've watched some pretty crappy spooky movies (like Sleepwalkers and Jeepers Creepers) but when a horror movie is so bad it makes you laugh...you know it sucks! LOL I made the most out of the experience...chewing my popcorn slooooooowly and cracking up at the terrible acting and even more terrible plot...but if you're looking for real spooks, you're not gonna find it in this movie. Skip it!!

October's almost gone, but breast cancer isn't

I had the greatest time on Friday October 17, 2008 with the ladies of Na Waiho`olu`u o ke Anuenue a.k.a. Na Wai. Not only were we celebrating TWO birthdays (Bella 10/7 and Delia 10/17), filling in for Pipi and spankin' da bruddahs at Battle of the Sexes, but we were also there to talk story about a project we were a part of called the Pink CD. The proceeds from every CD sold goes to the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation to help underprivileged women get the care they need to prevent and ti fight breast cancer.
The Pink CD features original releases of willie K., Lehua Kalima-Heine, Nina Keali`iwahamana, the Girlas, Dani Girl, Na Wai and more. I had a great time being a part of the project, especially knowing its purpose. And, of course, it's always nice to have a little fun doing something for a good cause, right?

Calling all west side FBI. LinaGirl and I was so hurt to hear of our hit and run incident near Honokai Hale. But very happy to hear that the injuries sustained will be able to heal we all know it could have been a lot worst. Problem now is finding the driver. He or she must know by now if was them. Come on do the right thing. On a much lighter note Congrats Guys cause Randy did it and won one for us in Battle of the sexes.

Was Battle of the sexes hard yesterday? I was amazed to hear no contestant saying their Name to answer the question who invented the Light Bulb? Or Name the inventor who invented the Telephone? Earlier on the show Lina Girl mentioned a new kind of restaurant starting. What makes this news is 75% of its meals include the use of Breast Milk. ( fo realz). I love the fact we should all eat a bit healthier and that Breast milk is really healthy for us. But come on!!!! On the flip side heard they might have the new shish Ka boob available.            This morning we tackled a Kotch song entitled Two Occasions and we were trying to figure out the first couple of words. To me it sounds like " And santa clause is beautiful" but I was wrong. Other guesses were "they say that love is beautiful" or that "summer love is beautiful" but that was not right either. What a night last night with our mayoral debate. Lots of remarks on our rail system were made. We heard it all from name calling to he said she said. I was waiting for a referee to come in. I also would like to say aloha to the braddah that called and said just as the Aloha Stadium is rusting so will the steel on steel rail system. It will be like having a rusted snake pass right across our aina how ugly and costly... I agree maybe we should just have a ski lift from Ewa beach to Downtown? Open air, get on or off when you like. Smokers could light up anytime and cost wise way cheaper. Hey remember no idea is a bad one. See you in the Morning.
