Aloha Harvest Hosts – Just Eat It HI

April 28 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Aloha Harvest is proud to announce Just Eat It HI – A Film Screening & Chef Challenge, taking place Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at ‘Iolani School. This dynamic event will address the growing concern of food loss in America and in Hawai‘i by challenging attendees to change the way they view what they eat and more importantly what they DON’T eat.

The evening will feature a showing of the award winning Canadian film, Just Eat It, a riveting story about a couple’s 6 month journey to rescue food. Prior to the film screening there will be a Chef Challenge showcasing Chef Mark Noguchi of Mission Social Hall & Cafe, Chef Lee Anne Wong of Koko Head Cafe, Chef Ronnie Nasuti of Tiki’s Bar & Grill, and more! Each participating chef will be given a mystery basket derived from local rescued food here in Hawai‘i and then use that basket to create a special dish for guests to enjoy. Following the film, attendees will have a chance to engage with a panel of food experts from Hawai‘i including Aloha Harvest’s Executive Director, Ku‘ulei Williams, local renowned chefs, farmers, and student leaders. All the proceeds from this event will benefit Aloha Harvest and support their mission to rescue food to feed Hawai‘i’s hungry.
